This five-day intensive programme was designed to provide practical insight into the establishment and operation of Non-Interest Banking (NIB) services within an Islamic Window Framework. The programme was delivered at a time when Ghana was preparing for the introduction and expansion of Non-Interest Banking services and focused on operational, governance, compliance, and implementation considerations relevant to financial institutions.
Key areas covered included Islamic banking products and services, operational structures for Islamic windows, Shari’ah governance, profit calculation and distribution, treasury and liquidity management, risk management, regulatory considerations, financial reporting, technology and systems integration, and financial inclusion initiatives.
The programme combined structured technical presentations, practical discussions, case studies, and interaction with experienced industry practitioners. Delegates also benefited from institutional exposure through engagement with organisations operating within the UK Islamic finance sector, providing valuable insight into practical implementation and industry best practice.
The programme was conducted by the Institute of Islamic Banking and Insurance (IIBI), London, with contributions from experienced practitioners and industry leaders from the UK Islamic finance sector.
